First Mega Purchase

I heard of the motherhood fair from singaporemotherhood forum MTBs and was really glad that hubby knocked off half an hour earlier to go do some browsing. Only an hr was left to go through the exhibition hall at expo. So many cute things that we resisted buying. It is still too early to buy. However, from the discussion of MTBs, i knew that breast pumps were the most expensive thing to purchase, thus i took the opportunity to source for cheaper deals. I only saw the Avent and Medula ones. The Avent was a single pump selling at $229 (U.P $299). The Medula ones were even more ex. They could cost up to $700 plus for a dual pump. We ended up in shock after the browsing. Haha!
Discussions in forum are very useful. I popped a question on if it was worth it for the Avent pump, all of them suggested a dual pump since i'm determined to bf. Dual means faster and they said when you pumped one side, the other would start to leak => wasteful. I tot about it, and yes, it means i could spend lesser time to be a cow when i return to work. Great! The MTBs also suggested Ameda, a more affordable brand. We went to the fair again the next day with my mum. Saw the booth selling Ameda pumps, set our foot in and got very good service. The lady who was really educated in lactation fed information to my mom who do not believe in breast feeding. We ended up buying the bundle set.
The bundle also include two glass bottles from nuturepure. It costed us $399. The bad thing about buying now is that the warranty would start upon purchase. However, they allowed pre-ordering whereby we just nd to pay 150 bucks deposit and the remaining upon delivery in Oct.

A closer view of Ameda Breast Pump.
And since breast pumping needs bottles to contain, we ended up buying glass milk bottles which are easily to cleaner and last longer.
Glass bottles of coz are fragile but they do not contain the BPA thingy which are harmful to babies.

We also got the siliskin which could protect the glass bottles from breakage. They looked cute right? Haha.. of coz... not cheap either. The cost of being parents.
